"Empowering Lives: The Inspirational Journey of Gunjan Tai Gole and Swami Vivekananda's Wisdom on Digvijay Divas."
Sewankur Amravati organised a program celebrating Digvijay Divas on September 11th. During the event, we visited an ashram run by Gunjan Gole, dedicated to underprivileged children, HIV-affected children, and unmarried mothers. The program began with Dr. Bodhankar addressing us about the ashram and introducing
Gunjan Tai. Subsequently, students from various colleges associated with Sewankur introduced themselves. Gunjan Tai Gole was presented with a momento of appreciation by Dr. Pradnya Bansod on behalf of Sewankur Amravati.
Gunjan Tai's remarkable life and her extensive social work, including sheltering pregnant unmarried mothers and abandoned HIV-positive children, were shared through an interview. She recounted her experiences, such as aiding earthquake victims in Nepal and providing support during the Kedarnath floods. Her inspirational journey and the poignant stories of abandoned children left a lasting impression on the audience, giving everyone goosebumps. Gunjan Tai is truly a guardian angel for these children and has ambitious plans for the ashram to offer them a better, healthier life.
Currently, there are 25 children in the ashram, and Gunjan Tai works tirelessly to ensure they lead a normal, healthy life. She emphasized the importance of teamwork in her organization and 2/7
mentioned her involvement in an NGO that supports abused and violence-affected women, providing them with care, treatment, and shelter. Gunjan Tai also shared her personal hardships and the support she receives from her mother, which has been crucial in her journey. Her early life and the challenges she faced when starting this noble work were discussed, shedding light on the mental health issues she and other women in society have encountered.
Despite holding an M.A. in psychology, Gunjan Tai acknowledged the need for professional help when she faced depression and has extended her efforts to promote mental health awareness. She serves on committees at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and Government Engineering College Amravati, which keeps her closely connected with the youth's issues. Her role as a mediator providing milk from lactating mothers to milk banks has helped nearly 170 babies, showcasing her unwavering commitment.
Gunjan Tai is a genuine hero and an inspiration for girls, encouraging them to stand up for themselves and fight against injustice. Her interview, conducted by Sanskruti Rathod and Sakshi Wagh, both medical students, left everyone in awe. Following Gunjan Tai's inspiring stories, a special guest, Devashish Ji Phadnis, an educator with a graduate and master's degree from IIT Delhi in engineering, enlightened the audience about the significance of Digvijay Day when Swami Vivekananda represented Hinduism in Chicago. His talk emphasized rational thinking and a spiritual foundation.

After the enlightening speeches, students from Sewankur tied rakhi to the students of the ashram, symbolizing the bond of Rakshabandhan. Sewankur students prepared Gopal Kala and served it to everyone. The talented children from the ashram showcased their creativity through beautiful diya, toran, and nameplate creations. The ashram is beautiful and surrounded with immense love from nature in the form of trees, fresh air, and close bond with animals. The program concluded on a happy and successful note.
